Dr Jessica Aszodi is specialist in voice and embodiment methods with 20 years experience performing and teaching around the world. In addition to teaching “voice” in the conventional sense, Jess teaches a holistic style of trauma-informed vocal embodiment that is the result of research and practice into a broad range of bodied modalities. From her operatic background Jess passes on to her students a commitment to finding and holding power, and making ourselves bodies in the habit of being present, resonant and expressive. These classes are also influenced by study in vocal physiology and mechanics, artistic research, classical & experimental music, Feldenkrais technique, somatic integration techniques, yoga, Taoist energy and breath work, and queer, feminist approaches to sensory communication and consent practices.
Currently offering small group glasses, workshops and vocal coaching at her home studio at Gotzkowsky Str in Berlin Moabit, and at the IKSK at Berlin’s Holzmarkt. And occasionally on tour.

PRIVATE CLASSES
Jess works with “humans” not just singers or professional voice users. She’s particularly interested in coaching new and challenging material & with aiding makers developing their own work. Her doctoral thesis focused on embodiment methodologies in the creation of new work, and she thinks about the voice as bodily material, as a production of presence and agency. Jess’ vocal studio welcomes individual students from backgrounds in theatre, instrumental music, dance, and somatics practitioners, as well as hobbyists and experienced singers.
If you have something strange and difficult to work on… Want to learn more about extra-normal vocal techniques… Need to integrate your performance practice with scholarly work… Or maybe you are curious about somatically and physiologically informed techniques for using your voice? Please be in touch.
